I might shift some junk about to free up a hard drive to test this out.

Has anyone attmpted NOT ENTERING a Key during install??

That was the only way of moving onto the Option screen. Doesn't sound like anyone has tried this out (on this thread so far) so I won't dismiss it just yet.

Go through the activation by telephone method when it asks you too. It'll give you the telephone number. You have to go through it anyway to generate an activation request code which you'll need on the phone (at least you did on XP).

There should be an option to force it to try activating. Maybe on the system tray on the task bar.
