What to do?! Vodafone contract, bought through Phones4u...
Hi all!
I am in a bit of an awkward situation here
, I will explain:
I bought my phone on an 18 month contract last October (20th to be exact), at £35 a month for 500 mins, 1000 texts (expensive, I know). The phone I got was a Sony Ericsson K850i.
Within two weeks I had to change my phone due to it having several bugs, one which included the phone switching off repeatedly. I used my own money to go to the shop where they actually had a replacement.
Now I am having troubles with the replacement - I can't access:
Inbox
Outbox
Drafts (texts)
Applications
Games
And most annoying, I can't send texts or recieve them.
I went to the Phones4U store today, I asked for a replacement immediately, but as it is out of the '14-day period' they said they needed up to 3 weeks to get one (during which I am paying for a service for which I am not getting). I asked if they could at least be given another phone in the interim: 'no' was the answer. I wasn't about to give them my phone so I left.
So, what are my options? I have a mind to either:
-Cancel my contract with Vodafone if possible or:
-Reduce my contract each month and get a new provider and phone, meanwhile I could sell my mobile phone to one of those internet mobile phone buying companies, and pay off the rest of my contract in one go.
Trouble is, I am so soon into my contract, but if this is the level of service I am getting from Phones4U then I really don't want to have to deal with them ever again.
Plus, I am sure there are better phone deals out there.
So, can anybody suggest something? I would be grateful for any ideas on this problem.
Thanks,
James
p.s. do you think that if I added the fact that I am at uni and my phone is the only contact with my family 200 miles away, that either Phones4U or Vodafone would be more likely to help?

Phone the store you went to and ask if they have any in stock and pretend your looking to buy one, get the persons name. If they are in stock you can argue your point.
You could try SE direct,
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/common/contact?cc=gb&lc=en
They may be able to repair it for you a bit quicker0 -
Your issue isn't with Vodafone but with phones4u.
I say put your phone in top be repaired and buy a cheap phone from eBay (or such) to tide you over. You could always sell it again afterwards.0
