You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, set-top boxes, video or DVD recorders, computers or mobile phones to watch or record TV programmes as they are being shown on TV.
Which is pretty much exactly what I said...weegie.geek wrote: »A license is needed when you watch or record tv live as it's broadcast. Streaming off the net after it's been shown on tv requires no license. Watching pre-recorded tapes (not tapes you've taped off tv) or dvds (same clause as tapes) requires no licence. Using the TV with a games console requires no license.
So would you care to point out what part of what I said was wrong? They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -

If you own a video player it also has a tuner, it can get BBC then you need a licence0 -

Nope. You only need a license if you use it for watching or recording TV. If you let them in to check and there's an aerial plugged into it, it'll look mightily suspicious, but you ONLY need a license if you watch or record TV as it's being broadcast.
