    I think you need a driver for win98 though, not sure if usb2 is support by win98, its been a long time since I used win98.

    Sorry for hijacking this thread but you folks are so knowledgeable.
    I went off without my sony digital at the weekend so I bought myself a cheap Kodak---cx 7430, as I had some important pics to take. Well, I can't connect to my PC[xp] with the usb. I am at my wit's end and would appreciate some help. The PC says 'found new hardware' but when I click on cx 7430 in the control panel, it takes me to 'the PC cannot detect a camera'. I have done everything that I've done with my Sony and previous cameras.
    HELP please!
