How do I make bechamel sauce?

    I put grated cheese in as well for lasagne

    its slightly different from white sauce as the milk used should be infused with herbs,seasoning and onion first. Its thicker than a white sauce and should be glossy when finished. But yes it basically a posh white sauce

    I think what makes it a bechamel is the flavouring - add a couple of bay leaves, peppercorns and half an onion to the milk whilst you warm it. If you don't bother to warm the milk then add them to the sauce while you are cooking it out. When the sauce is done, take out the bits and the sauce will be left with a lovely but subtle flavour.

    I can make a white/cheese sauce but what makes a bechamel sauce? I'm going to make HM lasagne but OH said I need to make a bechamel sauce for it ....:rolleyes:
