NatWest said I can upgrade my Step basic current account with them to any current account I wanted, so I went for the Advantage Gold account.
At the start of the phone call I heard something about having your own picture on your card but, wasn't fully listening
Can I do this on the Maestro debit card that comes with the current account?
Thanks

It costs £10 to personalise a card. Are you also aware that an Advantage Gold account costs you £12 per month? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yeah! I knew it was £12 per month for the account wit a 90-day money back guarantee

I have Advantage Blue on my Step account for £6 p/m which I use as it has mobile phone insurance, free cinema tickets ...etc. - they all get used quite alot.
The Advantage Gold will be equally used too
I'll look into personalising the card for a tenner

Not wanting to be the bearer of bad news but the card personalisation is for the natwest credit card only and just because you have a advantage gold account doesnt mean you will recieve a maestro debit card.
I would imagine you will recieve a solo card until your account is reviewed in 6 months time then they will decide what card is issued.
I upgraded from a step account also and had to run the account well for 6 months before i got my maestro card.
fingers crossed you won't have the same experience as me :P

When I upgraded my step account to the Adv Gold account, I got the Mastero card and a 500 overdraft and was accepted for the natwest credit card as well with a very good limit0

I changed from the step to gold account 5 months ago and was still issued with solo. Bank manager told me he would ring me in 3 months to see if I could get upgraded to maestro but i never got the call! Haven't bothered to chase them, cos the solo works fine as it is.0

I used to have Natwest Private Banking - what a waste of £250 a year!0

I am paying 90 pounds a year for natwest gold master card. They converted my current account as gold-plus account with 10000 pounds overdraft facilities.Added advantage is no separate cost to run the account and not to worry about going overdraft. No charge or penalty.I am running that account for the past 30 years.0

I get Natwest's £10,000 overdraft facility for free

£10 to personalise a card is for the credit card, it is £5 on the kids account to personalise their cash card. Maestro cards at the moment cannot be personalised but I would think that it will come in soon.
Fedz, the 90 day money back guarantee only works if you do not use any of the services at all. If you do then you get nothing back even within the 90 day period(previously it was the case until February 2007)0
