An interesting take on the story (Warning strong language!) :-
http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/business/egg-condemns-'prudent-scum'-20080204700/What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
but the Egg Money does seem to pay the highest ongoing cashback rate right now
Capital one pays the same as Egg Money (1%).
My card has better interest free days (but that depends on exactly which card cap one give you).
Also you get freee Equifax reports with Cap One.
I was going to use Egg but now I'm thinking of closing Egg and staying with Cap One.0 -
This is probably the best article I've seen on this subject.

I sent a message to Egg asking them to confirm my status with them and I had a reply in pidgeon English stating that they are not closing my account and I am to continue using the card as normal. :think:0

Just got a letter from egg this morning, They Addressed it to my partner who doesn't even have an account with Egg and i have never given her details to them. Also the Account number in the letter does not match my card. I'm guessing it was meant for me as i do have an egg card. I've had the Card for about 2 years and i've never missed a payment and currently owe £1000 on it and paid £200 pound off just 2 weeks ago. I usually max it out (£1250) and then pay it off in about 3 months.
As far as i know I've got a clean credit record (never missing a payment on anything) This as made me angry in the first instance because of their !!!! up and in the 2nd because their implying I'm a risk when I'm clearly not. :mad:0 -
The 'Log In' page has been unaccessable since lunchtime. I'm more than curious to know what is going on. I have an EGG Money card and always keep a credit balance on it - using it purely as a cash card and debit card rather than as a credit card. That is it's attraction for me since with a pure credit card I would always pay an outstanding balance off each month - if I couldn't cover the expense from my available savings then I wouldn't be spending the money.
I haven't received the letter yet ?! but then I can't access the site either.
Most odd and slightly worrying.0
