Does it shampoo/wash the carpets as well as I need one that does that as my carpets need a clean after Christmas.

Have had a look at the spec and it doesn't look like it does. However, I bought a carpet cleaner from TJ Hughes, which looks similar in shape to the Vax, and it was £50 and cleans carpets really well. Only thing is there are no attachments so you can only clean straight, wide areas.

just what i was wanting but its out of stock at tesco and my local currys dont have one in stock.
Does anyone know of any where else to get one at this price?
  • I bought something similar (Vax) from B&Q and paid £39.99 for it after spending £170+ on a Dyson.

Best vac we ever had - wouldnt touch a Dyson again.

BabyKat - sorry to be a bit vague, but I was in Asda last week and they were selling a branded upright vacuum for around £35. I honestly don't remember the brand (could have even been Vax), but I do remember thinking it was a very good price. If you have an Asda local to you, might be worth ringing them up and asking.

Vax upright model Vs 190-u Currys have them in the sale I think RRP as usual over inflated £139.99....Amazon were £79.99....so is still bargain at £35 from Currys

Many thanks picking one up today. I have had a vax hoover before and it was the best ever, hope this one will give me the same satisfaction.action-smiley-033.gif
