Oi! I was agreeing with you!

Insurance companies aren't infallible, but I do know (hope) that they wouldn't risk cancelling a claim & voiding the policy over heresay - the FOS would NOT be happy!

Apologies, it was in relation to feesh saying that his surgeon told him... must have posted at the same time!

Carefully - wouldn't want you having to make a claim...

Used to know a loss adjuster, you'd be amazed how many people routinely leave several grands-worth of stuff in their parked cars (maybe he specialised in MoD claims).

I loved that quip, well thought of.
I watched it all (nothing better on!) and can understand what they mean about some people setting out to purposely get something/more than they're entitled to, but I think I'd be reluctant to be insured by them. However, If in the future I ever NEEDED to make a legitimate claim I'd be terrified I wouldn't be believed after watching that. It might just be me, but surely there are some folk who really do drop pots of paint down the stairs etc!

I have an ailment which means I have a temporary loss of consciousness out of the blue. Three times that it's happened I've been ironing at the time which has resulted in the iron falling onto the carpet; by the time I'm ok again the carpet's smoking away awful and the top of the carpet suck to the iron leaving a terrible mess on both! It's obviously no joke and is very frightening when the sudden realisation kicks in, but would I try telling our Insurance Company that? Not likely - just in case they suspected I was lying!

That's the trouble with those who go over the top with claims...it makes the Insurance companies suspicious - and it it makes us all feel guilty to claim when we really we should be doing so!

I watched it. I think we should have been given more infor about the 40k couple as it was hard to judge if they were lying.

Loved the woman with the engagement ring. Naughty, naughty. OH wanted her charged with fraud!

OH also thought the TV man was lying by pretending to have no English! He said classic signs of constantly touching his nose and fidgeting. I'm surprised they didn't just check with shops re bar codes on TVs to see who they were sold to as they keep a record of these sales and you have to provide your name and address for TV licence.

I agree with the 40k couple, I honestly thought they'd say something about the outcome at the end, I really feel sorry for them if they were for real.

I suppose if nowt else you had to give the engagement ring lady credit for speaking truthfully afterwards!

With regard to the foreign chap, he was able to buy one he*l of a lot of goods with so little English! Never thought about them checking things out with the shops and bar codes, good thinking, which is more than I had!!!

Did I hear correctly that the chap who was hit by somebody and then hit the lampost / tree had accidents in October, November and December? Very unlucky guy ;)

Loved the fact that they just dumped his car outside his home, unrepaired.

It was grossly insulting as to where a person lives "We wouldn't expect someone living here to have £1300 of stuff type thing, then the lectures about "being honest" etc. I certainly wont be insuring with NU.
How much did NU make last year?

Insulting dont make me laugh, my mate is a loss adjuster and the stories he has told me about his clients are truly insulting involving fiddling on a massive scale, its amazing how many families have a huge collection of high value electrical goods where two people are on benefits, and have no proof of purchase or credit purchase.

The police aren't interested the ins companies have to be self policing.

Be realistic. You better not insure with anyone. It will be the same with any insurers. Claims investigators are often independent companies and contracted to the insurance companies so it doesn't matter who you insure with, you could end up with the same company investigating you.
