    I've just read on the Grocery challange that a lady makes pizza dough in her breadmaker and then uses it for garlic bread....yum yum!

    I thought i'd give it a go, however i can't seem to make my own garlic butter...do any of you old stylers make your own, if so how do you do it?

    :confused::confused::confused:

    Crushed garlic and butter and a tiny bit of rock salt, mix to taste. Add a bit of chopped parsley if you are worried about garlic breath!

    Hi kippers,

    I do the same as Magpie...I usually make a batch of it and keep some in the freezer ready to use next time.

    I've added your post to an earlier thread on making garlic butter that should help. This thread may help too:

    I love the thought of making the bread in my bread maker, the same recipe as pizza dough...oh my mouth is watering.

    The problem i've had before when i make garlic butter is we don't seem to like big bits of garlic in the butter and i can't seem to crush it enough....any ideas?

    Hi kippers,

    I use a garlic press to crush the garlic....like this one but available much cheaper in most supermarkets....mine cost about £1.50. If you have a pestle and mortar it does a similar job. If you don't have fresh garlic, garlic granules work just as well.

    kippers - ususally crushed garlic shouldn't leave bits when mixed with butter - it all becomes very smooth. Lazy garlic is very bitty though. You can get garlic puree (nest to the tubes of tomato puree) if you feel inclined ;) Not very OS though :o

    Three questions in one really.

    I love garlic butter but not so much that I like everything in the fridge flavoured with it (especially the milk) so I need an effective way to store it.

    To this end I bought a "clip lid food storer" thinking this would be the answer to my problem. However, on the sticker attached to the container, it states "not suitable for foods with a high fat or sugar content". I guess that rules out my butter.

    So -

    Q1. What can I use to store my garlic butter so it doesn't taint the fridge?

    Q2. Why is my container "not suitable for foods with a high fat or sugar content"?

    Q3. What can I do with a stupidly small "clip lid food storer" which has only the capacity for about 200 grammes of butter or cheese but for which it is unsuitable for storing?

    Thanks in advance.
