she did ask why the previous person gave the car up so fast,
she got it from the dealer who only sells that make of cars
and the log book doesnt say any thing about accident0 -
i just jioned cause ive heard so much about money experts help so glad to see that so many of you posted back thanks0

It won't say on the log book if it had been involved in an accident
The only sure way of knowing is to get either a HPI report, which in all honesty is still flawed as it would only show up IF the repairs were done through an insurance company
..or get a 3rd party inspection done from some one like the AA or RAC0 -
accident damage could mean someone banged a shopping trolley and dented the wing for example which is a minor accident, if you have the recepit why not ring up the accident repair place and ask0
-
Lone Ranger, yes you do an HPI check depending on price of car
BUT that is why you also ask the seller, if they then lie about damage you will have some recompense
DFH4NP, here we go another SOGA nut!!!
Fatboyslim, any substantial accident damage that has been repaired via an insurance claim is now marked on the logbook by DVLA as when the car has been repaired it is required to have a VIC checkIMOJACAR

How much is the recipt for? That should indicate if it was anything major.
As deanos said, it could have been anything. Something as normal as catching a miror can cost over £500 on some vehicles!0 -
Is the receipt for repairs also from a main dealer? If so, then the garage that sold the vehicle probably would have known about the damage, as it would be on a centralised computer system. But, as other posters have said, if the buyer doesn't ask about any accident damage, then it's not up to the seller to mention it.0
