  • By the time you've got past jobsworth on the gate and spotted the circling sharks in their bright anoraks, any normal person would be beating hasty retreat from the place.

Why do people put themselves in shark infested waters and then seem surprised when they get bitten.

I wouldn't buy anything from them.
  • I love going down to the Car Shop in Northampton and wasting their time when I haven't got anything else better to do.

Pondlife the lot of them, I wouldn't buy a car from them if they were the cheapest in the country.

  • DON'T GO TO THE CAR SHOP!!!!!
They are bullies and are rude if you don't purchase. They knew I just wanted to browse but almost tried to force us into buying a car by belittling us!!!
I would never recommend anyone to go there!!!!!
Worst service and rudest managers I have ever seen!

  • I have had hell with the carshop northampton now for 8 months (since I bought the faulty car). And I can honestly say I've never dealt with anyone more disgusting!! I've been treated so badly and I'm currently seeking legal advice! Please do not go there!! I regret setting foot in that place! Wish I had listened to all the bad reviews now!!! They are so right!! Trading standards are my next step!

Wish I had read the last two comments prior to visiting the Cardiff showroom, Bushwacked at the door, practically had a shouting match with the salesman because I would not submit to hearing their presentation. Walked out without looking at any cars. Won't be going back.
  • I requested a test drive online and was called by someone in a call centre to book. I told him I didn't want to buy the car today, just wanted to test drive it to help me decide which model to buy from a short list of 3. He said no problem.

After taking a bus to the showroom, a salesman took some details from me and I told him the same; that I just wanted to test drive the car. After speaking with a colleague he told me I couldn't test drive the car because I didn't want to buy it today. I told him but that's the make & model I'm interested in buying. He refused, telling me "I don't want to waste my time on a busy Saturday if you have no intention of buying a car today". What happened to fostering a good impression with a potential buyer?
Have since read loads of negative online reviews of Carshop tactics and know I have had a lucky escape!
I will take my custom and hard earned cash elsewhere.
  • Sounds like you're not ready to offer anyone any custom yet if you're still undecided about which model of three cars to buy.

Well im surprised they refused to allow you test drive it, you basically told them you wanted to kick the tires and waste what ever fuel is left in the car to try it out.

My advice would be keep schtum about wanting to try it out and not buy by acting all interested then request keys for a test drive, if you like it, you can simply say, I like the car but don't like the drive and leave.
  • I do hope you get your money back, but having read your initial post, I couldn't believe anyone could be so naive.

What do you mean "you had to sign a piece of card"? You didn't have to do anything of the sort. You only signed because you wanted to if the truth be known. You also let them have your debit card against your better judgement.

That gleaming, shinning Citroen was affecting your judgement and all you could think of was having it sat on your drive.

Hopefully, this experience will enable you to be in more control of yourself next time.
