Trying to sell my property, estate agents useless!!!!

Options
Hi everyone...

My house has been on the market for over 7 months, been trying to sell it through local estate agents and had no luck at all.

I found this company a few months back --> Sell my house fast . At first thought it might be a scam, and would offer me way under the asking price, but they came out and made me an offer there and then of only 10% below the RIC's valuation, and offered to let me rent it back of them if I wanted (which I didn't as I have found another property to move into).

I know there are loads of these companies around, but I thought 10% is very reasonable considering all of the fees I would have encountered dealing with estate agents and solicitors, not to mention the 7 months of mortgage payments I have already had to endure!!!!

Anyone got any opinions on these?

    Be careful

They may rent it back to you, but for how long, 6 months, 1 year, 2? At what rate and what happens after that? Do you have to move? Once you become a tenant it is not secure.

Would it not be better to see if you can come to some arrangement with your arrears and if you do need to sell do it in your time?

    Just a few thoughts

Yes, they are about as useful as flicking a wet sugar puff at a battle hardened Special Forces Soldier who is attacking you with an M16 assault rifle.

    Next please.
  • This is not spam at all! My house has been on the market for 7 months, I've been through a messy divorce, and just wanted some general advice ... I thought that was what this forum was about?

Thanks Nessa, for your advice, and I have heard about sale and rent back schemes being troublesome, but as I said I won't be renting back.

So far my experience with this particular company has been very good, and the price they offered also is good. I just wanted to hear if anyone had dealt with them before, has dealt with any company like this, or was in a similar predicament to myself.

    Who are they?

How long have they been trading?

    Are they a Limited Company?

    Do they have audited accounts?

Who are the people running it?

If you're happy with the price offered go for it. The major problems with these companies come with people who want to stay in the property after sale.
