Spyware Blaster

Ok, so I have Spyware blaster after downloading it from recommendation, I have activated it so it is giving me protection.

Do I have to do anything else now ? Or is that it ?

I also have Norton and Spybot (which I run regularly to do checks) but is there anything else I should have ?

Many thanks in advance

Not really; those three pretty much cover all bases. You'll only need something else if you find that you've been caught out by something that they can't handle.

Don't forget to keep SpywareBlaster up to date! :)

Adaware and spybot search and destroy and also Microsoft anti spy

With Microsoft Anti Spy you don’t need to activate windows and it resets all the settings for you.
All three are good but Anti Spy tells you when software is trying to change your settings.

You didn't specify if you have Norton firewall or virus protection.

It is absolutely the most important thing to have a firewall, even a freebie one like Zonealarm. If you configure it correctly, your amount of spyware will be almost non-existant.

  • The only other items I would add are A2 and ewido.

Both are trojan/malware/spyware/riskware removal prevention/protection programs.

Ewido is a full product for the first 14 days then reverts to a restricted product after that, but the both update on a almost daily basis.

    A2 - http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

    Ewido - http://www.ewido.net/en/

The last thing is use FIREFOX.

when I open my Norton up, it says I have firewall on and anti virus on, so I am assuming I have both.

Add Ccleaner which does as it says on the tin. Cleans up temp files and the trail left when you uninstall programs. Very useful.

If you use SpywareBlaster why not use SpywareGuard from the same people. It runs in the background and stops the spyware getting in in the first place.
I run AdAware, Spybot and MSAntispyware weekly and none of them have found anything since I installed SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.

Just out of interest. Which version are you using.

There is SpywareBlaster, which is a perfectly legitimate program.

There is also Spyware Blaster, which is listed on the Spyware Warrior rogue antispyware list.

I see you've typed your version with the gap between the words. This is the one that is on the rogue products list. Have a look HERE for more info. Scroll down for the list, and find this listing in alphabetical order (it's quite a long way down).
