What mobile phone for elderly aunt?

Options
I have an elderly aunt who needs to replace her now dead mobile with something that is easy to use IE no cameras or mp3 players or anything else rinky dinky - just a phone so that she can call for a taxi when she is out shopping. She is getting no help or advise from the usual high street retailers and I wondered if anyone can recommend a model for please.

The nokia 3510i is probably ideal for this type of user and should be cheap on eBay. Solid, large keys, large font, easy to use.

I noticed one in Tesco today, big numbers and does nothing apart from make and receive calls! Can't remember the model but it was under £20, I think it came with a Tesco sim card.

Please follow the link to the online pay as you go CPW shop. Any of those phones displayed would suit her. The Samsung b100 is a basic phone but it has a good reputation. Their equivalents may be on offer in other shops. The Nokia 1208 is another good phone. Try to buy new. Asda have a good range but often they are out of stock.

Of course one still needs to choose the network but i have found O2, vodafone and orange all Ok from a reception point of view.

Hate to contradict Lovely Nikki but stay away from the Motorola F3. I had one and although it had good points it was difficult to set up even for me, an experienced user.

My recommendation would be a vodaphone simply, which my 87 year old mother has had for about 6months, she even enjoys texting on it. The big snag is that they are no longer available new, I got this one on ebay but to be honest they are few and far between.

The sagem V3? is a clamshell phone which works on the same principle but again is not available new.

If you can get hold of one I would thoroughly recommend it, my mother could not get the hang of the basic Nokia but really enjoys the "Simply" phone. I do wish they had continued in production.
