contact lenses

I bought a months worth a little while ago. I had four that had a defect, and I found them uncomfortable if I wore them all day. I normally wear Focus Dailies.
However, I did like that they were so cheap - I wear glasses most days and feel I waste my 'expensive' Dailies if I don't get a full days wear out of them, so these were handy for bunging in for the evening or to go to the gym, and for a few hours use they were fine comfort wise.0 -
They are hit and miss some dont stick to your finger at all no matter what you try , others are ok , i am undecided , i wouldnt recommend them though because i would feel bad if they didnt work out for the person0

I can only assume that the filcon is the same as other lenses are made of isofilcon etc probably just different manufacturer's names for a similar material. I notice too that these lenses have a larger diameter than I am using at present, which is a plus for me. I will certainly give these a look in the future (just rec'd my 3 month supply from specsavers).
MrsB.
Filcon is the accepted generic term for any soft lens material - These can vary enormously. BTW Focon means rigid lens material for RGP lenses.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

THEY are trying to get them banned , apparently they are solid and stick to the eye and can cause damage , the better make ones (other makes ) have a perforated lens allowing the eye to breath , apparently ,
my daughter used them and long term were causing problems , optition said it was a very common complaint with these lenses ,
She now uses specsavers ones and are cheap and good value !
Sorry to pee on your fire, but that is total tosh! No soft lens has perforations and Daysoft don't stick to eyes any better or worse than mainstream manufacturers.
The point I'm making is that whilst they are safe (otherwise they would have a medical devices licence) they are old school technology. Anyone who disagrees is looking through poundsign tinted specs!.
Their customer service is allegedly excellent.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Their customer service is excellent - but then it needs to be with so many defective lenses and dodgy batches!
Couldnt agree more , ANYONE that says they are as good as the premium range , is talkign rubbish
They are thicker than glass ! (the lenses that is..)0 -
ive gotta say ive used them for a month or so now and compared to the specsavers version i find these to be easier to take out (presumably cause there thicker) and more comfortable to wear.
When i got these it was basically that they were recomended to me and i thought id give them a go, i find them great, others find them useless..... can anyone poi nt me in the direction of these "superior" products, may have a little try of them and see how they compare, although im in no rush as for me, these are fien0 -

Try One Day Acuvue or One Day Acuvue moist. I find these much more comfortable for me for all day wear than Daysoft or Focus Dailies. They are much more durable too. I find that the Focus Dailies and daysoft occasionally tear when I take them out of my eyes and sometimes leave small fragments behind on the surface of the eye.
Ask your optician to get some free sample lenses for you to try and see if you notice the difference.0 -

Please tell me that you don't use daily disposable contact lenses for extended wear!
They are about as suitable in terms of corneal oxygen supply as mud. Also as they're not licensed for this purpose, to prescibe them for such is breaking the law.:shhh:

No I don't, I forgot that 'extended wear' is a technical term for lenses you leave in the eye the whole time including overnight. I just meant the whole day.0

Oh, if that's the case then I'll climb back off my high horse!
Very good -carry on!Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.
