Hi, could someone who uses these lenses please tell me what they are made of? It does not say on the website, but should be on the packaging somewhere.
    Thanks,
    MrsB.

My daysoft 58 lenses are filcon II 1. There is info on the website here.

Just thought I'd add my 2p worth here:

I've been using Daysoft for a couple of years (£13/month) - I was using the Specsavers ones for a few years previously (£22/month) - it took me a while to get used to different lenses as they weren't quite as comfortable, but I haven't had any other problems.

The lenses are fine in themselves - haven't had any problem with them tearing and when I did have a slight problem with the quality of a couple of lenses, I emailed Daysoft and they sent me a month free. I have saved a lot of money using these lenses and I would recommend anyone gives them a try - I am an experienced contact lense user (~10 years), having used both monthly disposable, extended wear and daily disposables, so I do know what I am talking about here.

Someone above mentioned that they're trying to ban these lenses - can you please let us know where you heard/read this as you haven't backed up that statement.

    HTH.

Thanks for your reply, quick question, do you have annual contact lens checkups, if does the optician mention anything about the condition of your eyes, I'm guessing if they were harming the eyes the optician would of picked up on it.

    Thanks again! :)

Hi, quick answer - yes I have regular check-ups... aftercare is not included with the lenses so I pay for my annual check-up (believe it's about £25) at Specsavers - they didn't say anything last time I went... Obviously if you have any problems you might have to pay for other visits but I've experienced no problems with wear. I've been using Daysoft for about 18 months now.

Thanks for that purplepatch. I can only assume that the filcon is the same as other lenses are made of isofilcon etc probably just different manufacturer's names for a similar material. I notice too that these lenses have a larger diameter than I am using at present, which is a plus for me. I will certainly give these a look in the future (just rec'd my 3 month supply from specsavers).

everyone elses' experiences (and mine) prove contrary; we've had no problems

i've been using for a year (am due for my second contact lens checkup) and have had no problems with damaged lenses, only one lens has been torn for me in the past year (tore when putting it in my eye, was hungover lol)

Ever heard the term silent majority.....

I bought some recently and i really cannot get on with them , they har hard to stay on your finger , they are dry and thick as anything , you can notice the difference when you take them out , they are markedly darker and thicker than the mainstream equivalent...

I am wearing my glasses at this very moment till i can get my usual easy lens ones from specsavers

I was so chuffed to save so much money but as someone said your eyes are not to be messed with to save a few quid

been using daysoft for 2 weeks now, just as good as the acuvue 2 weekly ones I was wearing, no problems at all, wear them from 10 - 12 hours, really like them, will continue using them for many years to come, must admit I was worried about trying them after reading this thread but they are just as good as the other 2 brands i've used (acuvue and focus dailies)

I've been using Daysoft lenses for afew months now and have had no bother at all (and I've got very dry eyes to start with which even my optitian has noticed during eye tests!). I had previously been using the Specsavers monthly ones, and had also tried the specsavers daily disposables (which were agony) but haven't had a problem with the Daysoft (so far!).

Btw DGJsaver, obviously they're not going to suit everyone's eyes, but you don't know until you try do you.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
