    I wonder........

    if these "mistakes" are deliberate????

Went into my local store last night (Llanelli) purely after seeing this thread and thinking - "worth a go".

Sure enough the 10p shelf label was there but suprise, suprise it was empty.

I did end up spending over £7 though on other bits (which did include 2 reduced loaves but still...)

Every little helps.... of course every good "scam" relies on us - the great unwashed - being up for something too good to be true.

    Just a thought! :p
comping since august 2007, wins so far.....none! :rotfl:

I think, when you log in to your Tesco account, you are directed automatically to a local Tesco's shopping site, rather than a national one. That would account for the fact that some people can find the item and some cannot.

It's been mentioned earlier in the thread that this offer is regional, again explaining why some people can only find the higher priced item.

So the whole thing is done automatically by the Tesco.com website (maybe based on your postcode in your account?). You can't direct your browser yourself to a local page on the website.

I hope this clarifies it for you.

Thank you very much for that thought I was dense or something not spotting it.

Well - my delivery arrived this morning. Only 3 of the Tuna Steaks were included in the order, the rest had been substituted by other frozen fish products which brought the price up to £97!!!

So I returned the substituted items and ended up with 3 Tuna for 30p + £3.25 delivery, so quite a bit more expensive than originally estimated. My advice is to go into the store and collect!

These probably aren't mistakes as they've been 50p online and instore for about a month now - been buying loads over the last few weeks - 10p sounds even better! They used to be £2.99! Maybe they have their own tuna farm????!!!
  • Checked online and my store has them in stock so went along found the empty shelf with 10p price tag. Boohoo

We used to buy these at £1.50 price on pack - y were yours £2.99 ?

They never had a price on the pack (nor have the ones that I bought for 50p which are still in my freezer!) - they've always been £2.99 - even at £1.50 I would consider them a bargain - I buy loads of tuna and would challenge anyone to find 2 steaks at a normal price of £1.50! :rotfl:

Hi all, i work at tescos on customer services, (have done for many years!) and just to let you know that i had this issue come up with customers all the time, tescos will NOT let you have the product for 10p at all if they notice the mistake. You can complain all you like but all you will get is a refund of your delivery charge (if that depending on store!)
You will get it delivered and it will be full price on the reciept- so if this happens you can refuse to take the items and ask for a refund but this usually takes quite a while and alot of sorting out to do.
I have spoken to head office personally as i thought it seemed a bit unfair and they told me to tell customer theres nothing they can do, the customer will have to pay full price or not have the product.
So just thought id warn you!
    :j

oh... thanks for spoiling all our fun - you must get HUUUUGE commission for reporting this sort of mis-pricing!

went to my nearest tesco extra this morning hoping to do some tuna fishing, and found them just staring at me with a white SEL stating 10p, so popped all 10 packs in the trolley ( secretly hoping they had put price up to £2 for a great DtD. I also spotted the finest frozen langoustines which have a white SEL of £1, 260g packs ( 6 in each I think ) so cleared the last 15 packs of these.

Funny thing is they have the bigger packs of the langoustines in the open end of aisle freezers with all other prawny things and they are double the size pack at 520g and are £5.99!

Both went through till at the SEL price, paid almost entirely in coupons as well!

Only problem is the freezer is jammed full should another bargain come along!
