Resident parking permit.

Does resident only permit parking outside a property lower its value ? Terraced house i thought about buying is up for £129,950 empty since July when it was £135. I offered £122 before Christmas but vendor is still holding out for more. Since then the council has put parking restrictions in the road and those in the surrounding streets. Each house can have two permits and scratchcard passes for visitors at a pound for 24 hrs. Dd was to have the house and share with two friends, now one needs to be a non driver or at least not have a car. Will this will also make the house harder to sell when she wants to sell up in the future?

He didn`t accept the £122 so he isn`t going to accept a lower figure! Meanwhile the property remains unsold, empty and presumably costing him money every month.0

People who are used to having problems parking would welcome the fact you can have 2 permits and see that as something good.
People who expect to have easy parking will be offput.
With regard to whether the value of a house is reduced by it being residents' parking, I think the answer partly lies in what the situation is in that town as a whole.
I presume that before the permits there were problems parking. Resident parking permits tend to get issued in areas where residents have problems parking, whether that is from shoppers using the spaces, or a high number of shared houses having a disproportionate number of vehicles.0 -
How much is a residents permit?
If it's free, you're not normally likely to have more than two cars in many households, let alone a terrace
If I had to pay and parking were not generally an issue then yes, it would devalue a house slightly for me, but the fact that residents parking is in place means it must be an issue and I might just be grateful.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If I was near a station it would increase the value but generally speaking I think it reduces the value (pain in the bottom when visitors come over for example).0

It is free at the moment as the builders of the students flats in the centre of town had to pay for it before they were given planning permission. It is being trialled for 18 mths with objections being taken until june 2008. After 3 years council said passes would be about 20 quid each. Property is on rightmove but i don`t know how to paste a link. please help.0

The easiest way to put in a link is to right-click once on the web address of what you want to link to: the web address (URL) will go blue.
Choose 'Copy' from the menu that appears.
Then go to MSE and in the box where you type press the Ctrl button and v at the same time.
If someone on the MSE website then clicks on what you have put on your post they will be taken to the place you have linked to.
For example:

Will take you to the BBC homepage0 -

The vendor does not seem to realise that no one is going to pay more than £115,000 still even less likely now that it also has restricted parking and is incidentally quite a way from the station. I dont want to complete on anywhere until Sept so time will tell if it is still unsold after 12 months.0
