Hi carry please come and talk
  • Just to send a hug...I suspect I hold a record for consolodating and can honestly say I have lost count of the amount of loans and remortgages I did over a short 8 year period! I only stopped because I couldnt get more credit & that lead to a very nasty but necessary "oh s*** " lightbulb moment and a good thing too as could easily have lost my house if I had used all the credit I had! Carry you wont be the first or last & as you can see we do know what its like. Lots of good advice given so if you can post your soa or ring cccs - the most important thing to do is look at why you're getting into debt & try & tackle that. Often it seems to be a number of factors - emotional spending, depression, difficult circumstances or simply living beyond your means and debt creeping up on you...regardless you're not alone...

  • Lost count but can think of around four loans taken to repay credit cards, existing loans and overdrafts!

Carry, please come back we do want to help.

  • Hello there this is my first post on here!! so here goes.
Hey Carry, I cried all night last night and didn't get to sleep till 4.00am I know it feels really bad. I have been in debt for 4 years and finally got onto DMP last Sept, hurrah I thought now I can relax and start living my life again, BUT the Halifax are still putting interest on my debt and said they will sell it on to a debt collections agency, so I fell further back into debt hell fearing all the constant phone calls and aggro! The worst thing is that my DH dosen't know anything about my debt and its making me feel ill :o and I don't know whether to come clean and suggest we extend our mortagage, as we have alot of equity in our house and we will be splitting up soon, which has been on the cards for awhile when our daughter starts college, so taking out my debt from my share of the sale of the house???? I just don't know what to do, I am so unhappy and have been for too long, my doctor is refering me for councelling and I am even crying now as I write this, I should be feeling better but I'm not:cry:

    Hi Spacecadet,:hello:

    Welcome to the forum:beer:

As you've probably noticed, we're a pretty friendly bunch around here, and you'll get loads of support.:grouphug:

It's great that your first post was to offer encouragement to Carry, but I think it might be a good idea to start a separate thread as well as posting here - otherwise there's a chance that people might miss something in your post. (I'll keep bumping for a while just in case...)

Whatever your situation, there are plenty of people here who have been through something similar, so I'm sure you'll get some brilliant advice from people.
