Damn right! My dad worked hard for us, too. We always had a holiday when I was a kid but never abroad. Partly because he wasn't keen , but mainly because of the money. Now that his kids are self sufficient (ok, 2 of them still live at home but they work and pay rent! At least I've left...) and he is mortgage free, he and my mum take two holidays per year; one abroad and one in the UK.
And they fully deserve them.0 -
Oh my good grief ---- he's only gone and done it :j:j:j
After he came round with the holiday brochures last night (like an excited schoolboy), we went through the various choices/optional extras (like a pair of excited schoolboys) and he found the 'perfect dream holiday'.
& after knocking the travel agents door in this morning , its been bish, bosh, booked.
I an unbelievably proud of my Dad for following the dream that he's had since he was aged 10:T:T
p.s. and the heliciptor over the Grand Canyon just finished things off perfectly.0 -

He was that excited about the whole thing, that last night, he never went to bed and fell asleep in 'his' chair clutching his brochures :rotfl:
Less happy about the whole thing is my Mum who refused to go with him - and I imagine thought that he wouldn't go on his own.
Our survey said .....eeeeeeeeeeeee uuuuurrrrgghhhhhhh.
