Any good deals out there?
I'll be coming as a new customer from Orange.
Looking for (ideally) a 12 month contract, and a Web 'n Walk package and a £30 pcm(ish) tariff.
Cheers.

not sure on deals at the moment but I'd avoid the Vario if you want to use it mainly as a phone, i.e. for calls and texting. Great piece of kit for the other features though.0

Ironically, I just ordered a TYTN 2 on Orange.
The deal was TYTN 2 for £69.99 on a 12 month £30 contract.
I will be staying with tmobile on my reduced flext25 + wnw of £14pm and will unlock the TYTN 2 so I can use it.
The other half gets a contract sim for 12 months and can dump the PAYG sim for a while.
This way, I get the better looking TYTN 2 over the Vario 3 (same phone, different look), I've got 4 months remaining on discounted tmobile tariff with no commitment as a xmas retainer with the option to take a 18 month contract on the same discount after the 4 months. In this tme I can try 3 payg with data too!
To upgrade, TM wanted £180 for phone + 18 mnth contract and lose my £10 discount which works out to £360. Taking into account the approx £10 per month saving on wifes PAYG and £20 quidco this deal works out at £290. saves £70!
The deal I went for is here:

I did consider doing the same thing on T-Mobile via this deal:
http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/T-Mobile/contract/mobile-phones/MDA-Vario%20III/2209/index.html
but although cheaper, our reception at home to TM is poor. Have to go upstairs to get a signal and feel its better if we are on different networks for better total coverage.
Edit: Oh yes, the orange tariff offered a bucket more talk time, which will be good for the wife :rotfl:
Good luck!
P.S. These are not affiliated links! Suggest going through Quidco for any deals to maximise the savings!0 -
I have recently connected to T-Mobile Web & Walk with the Vario 3 and can't praise the it enough, although it does take some getting used to for the simple task of answering and making a call! While in Spain recently I made use of the hotels free Wifi to access my e-mails and use the net, it's pretty powerful unit.
I also checked out all the other networks such as o2 & Orange but I found that the 'Web & Walk' package was far superior than the other two for my needs. (Orange does not have an 'unlimited' package) I say 'Unlimited' but it isn't as the Web & Walk has a usage policy of 2/3Gb.
So far T-Mobile customer service have been first rate with some teething problems, which is refreshing after 18months with CPW/o2 & Vodafone.
I had the same problem with a bad signal and having to go upstairs to use the mobile. It was due to a weak 3G signal in my area and after I switched the settings to GSM I now get a strong signal. Worth a try if you haven't already done so.0
