Yep, I reckon that will be happening pretty soon, they give with one hand and take away with the other, sounds familiar 0 0

Disappointing there is no free gallery in the UK. Would prefer that & higher FVF, US structure IMHO is better for taking risks.0

Be warned, this is going to cost you a lot more money. eBay are really being greedy.0

It should be fairly east for a competitor to get some of the smaller power sellers down below 4.6 in any one month.0

 I thought that as well.
The temptation is going to be massive, you see someone selling the same item and buy a few using your secondary buying ids and leave fair, but low stars ( a 3* across the board should do it) and then bham, your competitors FVFs go up as they fall out of the high seller programme. I really can't see how this is going to be good for anyone, we will all be watching our backs .
The other thing that worries me is the perceived need to push up sales to achieve power seller status. It was something that I had already considered as I am not far off , but then we will have sellers who just can't cope with the demands on their time, pushing them to the edge just to hold onto the status to get lower fees.
It is interesting though that you need to be registered as a business to get the discounts. many of us who are legitimate and fully registered for tax still trade as private sellers..and that doesn't breach any rules as long as we pay tax. Yet we must now declare ourselves in some way on ebay, in a quite unnecessary manner. I wonder if this is the new close relationship with HMRC they mentioned briefly before..and a way to catch those traders who do not declare for tax purposes? It is one of the last major critiscms thrown at ebay, the fact that it is full of crooks who cheat the system, maybe this is the supposed answer to that problem?
I tend to be a fairly positive person, heck I even defend paypal on here, but I am struggling not to feel really disheartened by these changes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. This is absolutely ridiculous. Insertion fees down by a few pence yet FVF increase by 2+% !?
We need another boycott. This is becoming a joke :mad:0

Well I guess with the new lower fees, many e-bay shops selling lost cost items (CD's or DVDs) will be closing down. It would work iout cheaper for them to list their items in auction format.
Everyone loses out. Buyers and sellers. Sellers will simply raise their postage prices by 10p or 20p to recoup their losses.0
