Another victim here...
They have taken £98 off me....
I've rang them so many times, waiting hours on the phone.....
Now they ask me to wait a further 28 for a cheque...... just to add an extra insult...
28 days to get my own money back that they illegally took from me....0 -

At the risk of repeating myself please send an email setting out your problems to jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com and with cc to both AllCustomerCareEscalation@BSkyB.com and cc to CRsupport@bskyb.com and you will receive an apologetic email and/or phone call in no time saying oh dear this must have been a terrible slip up in just your case and that a cheque is on its way to you forthwith. Where things go wrong for many of you is where you instead insist on beating yourselves on the back with birch twigs by dialling Sky's expensive 0844 premium rate line (instead of the alternative listed in the thread at https://www.saynoto0870.com) and dealing with the usual suspects there who either deliberately or through incompetence do not resolve the issue.
You should also report your problems on the matter to https://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk pointing to the existence of this thread and the numerous customers who Sky is deliberately lieing and cheating and that Sky also seems utterly incapable of mending its ways without formal legal action being taken against it by Trading Standards and/or Consumer Direct at a national level.:mad::mad::mad:0 -
I too have been extremely frustrated with SKY. SKY have charged me for a non existent card for nearly two years resulting in them owing me more than £800 which they actually wanted to apply as a credit to my account. I have fought and fought with them and spent MANY MANY hours holding on the phones being "accidentally" cut off whilst being transferred, being lied to and constantly repeating my information to various departments as my details had not been logged correctly on the system. In desperation I logged my complaint with complaintcommunity.com this week and received a call from a very helpful SKY employee (there aren't many of them!) called Steven who confirmed my postal address, and who I wanted the cheque made out to as he was posting this out to me today! I'm amazed that I actually got a response from them but more importantly that my problem has now been resolved via complaintcommunity.com - give them a try!0

Now a month since the last post on this thread, does that mean all the problems are gone now?
Is anyone still encountering problems or can we all breath a sigh of relief, wish ourselves a merry christmas and look forward to a trouble free new year?:beer:0 -
Hopefully so Harz. Thanks for getting this thread going - it certainly helped us in our dealings with Sky earlier this year.
Don't want to tempt fate too much, but here's hoping !!
Merry Christmas0 -
My 4 month trial ended a while ago and I wanted to get everything sorted before I posted. I phoned at the end of 3 months to give my month's notice, and was told I was too early and to phone back at the time. Fair enough, if you say so.
Phoned back at the end of month 4 and was quite easy to cancel. Cancelled my Direct Debit next day.
Then... got a letter saying I had cancelled DD. Then got a bill asking for £20. Phoned, a nice lady swiftly cancelled the £20 charge and that was that. Then got a bill for £4.65 (this is what they charge if you don't pay by DD, so would be £24.65 per month). This must've been charged to the accout the same day she cancelled it. Phoned back again this week and after a bit of explaining it was cancelled. So after some frustrating hassle with the billing system, and 1 time being told by a robot that they were too busy to talk to me, I must give credit to Sky customer service for sorting it all out, and I've now paid £75 all in.

Firstly, a Happy New Year to one and all.
Secondly, it looks like job done - so thanks very much to all who contributed and congratulations to everyone who managed to sort out Sky!:j0 -
... but my problems with SKY have only just begun and I have been reading with great interest the posts already made.
Having moved home in August I arranged directly with SKY over the telephone to get the Pay Once Watch Forever having seen it advertised in the Argos book. Three attempts later and the dish was installed (but this is another story)!
I wrote to Sky at the beginning of December (three months into the free four months) and also informed them in this letter that I would be cancelling the direct debit mandate in January 2009 - which I did. Now I have received their usual letter asking for £19.50 for a months viewing plus a further £3.49 admin fee as I am not paying by direct debit!
I have spoken to SKY three times (extremely long wait, never the same person and always passed to the wrong departments) but they are insisting that I owe them money and if I don't pay they will refer to a debt collection agency. They have taken my instruction to cancel on the second call but have to wait 30 days for this to take effect as there is no way for this to take effect any sooner.
I have e-mailled the address they gave me (attaching a copy of my letter sent in December requesting cancellation) but expect that I will have to re-try with the e-mail addresses mentioned in this forum.
As I took this package over the phone I didn't have any specification of what I would be getting, how to cancel etc. and when I informed them of this today they tried to tell me that the terms and conditions would have been read out to me over the telephone - what rubbish! I told them that I haven't signed anything at all and have no contract with them but they just don't seem to care.
To round it off nicely, along with the letter from Sky I also received a letter from my work asking for volunteers for redundancy - nice.
I just wish that I had seen this BEFORE but better late than never!0 -
Sadly these issues do not seem to have been resolved. My tale is generally similar to the other posters. I had been verbally assured that no money was owing, this morning I found a letter threatening debt collection from Intrum Justitia. I have followed the above advice and e-mailed the named contacts. Hoping for a speedy resolution, whatever the outcome I will be writing to local Trading Standards, OFCOM, Consumer Direct & Watchdog.
If we treated customers in this way, we'd be fired on the spot. This demanding money with menaces cannot be allowed to continue.0
