Both charge 2.75% commission for foreign transactions.

Other charges that could apply if you're abroad (if a cash machine is used):

Capital One: 3% cash handling + applied at 25.94% p.a. interest.

Egg Money: No cash handling fee, interest charged the same rate as purchases (either 7.9% or 16.9% depending on which rate you're allocated on application) - its 7.9% typical variable so at least two thirds get the 7.9% rate.

The shell card pays monthly 3% on shell fuel and 1% on eveything else but there are conditions that you fill up atleast once a month at a shell garage and the cash is taken of the petrol value. Ok if you have a shell near by that is the cheapest station or you spend alot on fuel but if not its not really worth it. For european use nationwide or post office card do not charge, there not cash back cards, but with most cash back cards cash back is not payed on over sea purchases.

I've now been accepted for a Nationwide card - 0% for spending in Europe.

For my cashback card I have joined Capital One.
