As a few people have said , this is in the wrong place unfortunately. This forum is for short lived offers that are available-hence the title name.mods please move to correct forum
An email to abuse, is the way to get the thread moved, as they dont monitor posts, they only act upon other members advising them off errors.
I have emailed them and asked them to move this to the "i wanna" forum0 -
Its interesting that so many people recommend Bosch, wasnt the company (which used to be quite a posh make) taken over quite a while ago by a more bog standard quality company? However from the posts above it still appears to be a good make.
I have the same trouble as OP, although only used once a day the dishwashers only seem to last a couple of years. We tend to buy the cheapest, except when we tried a Candy because they were supposed to be more reliable, it didnt last any longer than the cheap ones. We live in a very hard water area, don't know if this makes a difference.0 -

We also have a Bosch, 9 years old and as good as the day we bought it. We've had to have it repaired once, but that's because we put a broken plastic tumbler in it and a shard got caught in the outlet. Never seen a quicker, better repairman in my life. In and out in 15 mins.
Cheers

I'm going to sail against the wind here and suggest that you look at Zanussi. I wouldn't buy anything else. I'm on my 3rd such washer in 25 years or so and I've never had a problem with them. I had a Bosch slimline unit in a previous house and it was disappointing - noisy, didn't clean very well and the cutlery basket fell to bits.0

I'm bucking the trend here, too. We had a Bosch which performed valiantly for five years and then gave up the ghost. We immediately replaced it with another Bosch with similar spec but sadly the build quality was rubbish. I couldn't believe how flimsy it was compared to the older one it replaced.0

We have just bought the bosch sgs56e12gb from comet auctions paying £177 and it has a tiny scratch on the front but so far I think its great, it has the timer to tell you how long it has left and many differant programes inc eco washes and half loads and it remembers which wash you use most, the basket for cutlery can be placed anywhere on the bottom tray which ive found really handy and the bit for holding the tablets is very deep and it has an adjustable upper basket. I would suggest going and looking instore before buying online as i had picked out a few machines but ended up changing my mind once i had seen them instore;)The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Interesting. Bosch used to be part of Siemens, not sure of takeover, but as my recommendation was based on a very old machine, it could be that new ones have changed. The same seems to apply to Zanussi who are now part of the AEG / Electrolux group (John Lewis own brand machines are made by them too). The bottom of the range machines are sold under Tricity / Bendix, next come Zanussi, then AEG.
Even my Miele, which is supposed to be very posh, is not that great compaired to my old Bosch. Also brand snobbery does not always mean a good brand - for example, SMEG, which is sold as an upmarket often expensive appliance in the UK, is actually one of the cheapest range of appliances in Italy.0
