A recent Which Review (January 2008) recommended the following full size dishwasher within your price range:
Bosch SGS45C02GB - £280
This full-sized freestanding model from Bosch is outstanding at washing crockery, cutlery and glassware.
Whether you're running the main or Eco programs, the Bosch will leave your plates and glasses sparkling and clean.
The main program takes 150 minutes and uses 17.5 litres of water, with the Eco program taking 3 minutes longer but using almost 3 fewer litres of water.
The SGS45C02GB is also good at drying and leaves very few watermarks. A 30-minute quick wash option is available if you're in a hurry. And Bosch dishwashers have a higher than average record for reliability.
Pros: Excellent washing performance and above average reliability
Cons: The lower basket is a little bit fiddly to remove

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
My dishwasher is a Hotpoint Aquarius, had it for years, not sure of the price as was a gift but has been great.
I used to have trouble with tablets in the wee door but soon sussed out just to put them in the cutlery basket - works absolutely fine.0 -

We had a Bosch (branded Hotpoint - they used to be made by Bosch) as it lasted 14 years before the water softner unit failed. It still was usable, but we replaced it with a Miele, which was on offer. The Miele is Ok, but the "Bosch" was much better - cleaned better and did not have niggly problems like having to clean a tube inside the dorr every couple of years - most people would need an engineer to do this. My boss also has a bosch and is very pleased with it. Also look at buying it from John Lewis, you'll get a longer guarantee.
No problem with Tablets in ours. I've also used a SMEG which works fine with Tablets.0 -
we have had our bosch for 5 yrs and it has been problem free would def buy another 1.hth0
