    You could always put in a new lower bid! A house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. As said before it is not your responsibility as to what the sellers want to do next. There will be (probably) lots of houses coming onto the market & as long as you keep your nerve you should get what you want at the right price.

    Ok, I think I'm going to put in a second offer at 137K. Good idea? Reasonable?

    I realise it's all what I believe the property is worth but just need advice and reassurance. :D
  • get a friend or relative to go round and offer less on the property, the agent will tell you 'amazingly this time' it will be the truth that another offer has been made!! you turn around and say it's okay ive found another place that im second viewing this week! sure as hell the seller will think your offer was generous and accept, id then knock them day before exchange (it's a tough world:)

  • All depends how desperate they are!! if they've already made themselves emotionally and or financially attatched then the ball is in your court (not nice practice however!)

    yes, we are heading towards exchange, if someone tried to knock me down i would have to back out completly. i am not that fussed on the place we are buying enough to get shafted pre exchange.
