I did a post on Mystery shopping a few pages back in response to a question and said I used Gapbuster. Now they've just declared one of my shops 'invalid' - their instructions were a bit 'multi' in that they included several scenarios on one piece of paperwork. I did everything they asked but did one extra task as it was unclear - I thought it better to do it than leave it out!
They've emailed me today to say I will be paid nothing for that assignment - I had to spend £9.80 which they were supposed to reimburse, apart from the shopping fee - and it cost me £4 in petrol to get there! I feel really upset and am considering just cancelling all future assignments with them. I have emailed them but they are not responding. Has anyone else had this or similar with Gapbuster?0 -
This is the only month I have used bingo and all the other months its been mystery shopping, ebay selling amazon selling, surveys, car boots, competition wins etc etc, much harder though, this has been one of my easier months, so hard work next month, also fidn the more months you do the harder it gets and as next month is my 7th month in a row I'm a bit nervous
i'm building up some stuff already for march and april so hopefully i'll be able to make those ones too! just have to keep fingers crossed! plus i have plenty of junk that i can ebay!:eek:Aug £10 a day £0/£10000 -

They did that to me a few months ago when I forgot to check the shops either side and it bucketing down so I had ran into the shop with my head down. They rang me and said next time...bla bla bla so I replied there won't be a bloody next time! Not worked for them since :rotfl:GOD BLESS DURAN DURAN

Hello, just signing in with todays total: £11.91, clicks and bingo. I am now also trying desperately to get my head around matched betting, have only read it about 300 times - so still a way to go. Am I right in thinking the main bulk of the profits is by signing up to different betting companies, once that runs out, is there still money to be made on the bets once you have paid the commissions. I thought if I could get my head around it both me and hubby could have a go, but I see that only one member per household can join and isps will be checked, so much for that for a good idea..... off to go and read it for the 301 time!I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

I HATE Gapbuster - I kept thinkning "Oh I'll just check it" and signed up for another assignment which inevtably was FAR more hassle than it was worth... etc etc but now have firmly decided I will NEVER work for them again!
Sorry about the SHOUTING but I feel very strongly!!
(not that I've done much Mystery Shopping anywhere recently...)
The general gist of M Betting is you sign up to different bookies and take advantage of their free offers after you've bet once there, then you just leave that account and move on to the next bookie and the next free bet offer.
When you bet you make another bet at another bookie (called laying, generally at Betfair) which means that you minimise losses and try to get good odds to minimise losses on the free bet too. Once it clicks it clicks!!
If you think you are getting there post a suggested bet on the newbie thread for loads of advice.
Feel free to PM me too but I can't guarantee how quickly I will reply - esp if you are actually on a time scale to make the bet!
Hope that helps a little!
Just to add to this essay I'd also like to say how great and motivating this months challenge has been - hope we can keep it up into March!!
And finally... I have done a free bet today and withdrawn my survey money and my total has not gone up that much (???) Which implies I am missing something but can I really be bothered to trawl through the thread and look for it ... ??? ....

Open up Betfair and Coral (or something, thats where I started) and look at football matches for say tomorrow...
Find the same match on both eg Man City v Everton (I think!!) and then compare the odds on Coral against the LAY (eg pink box) on Betfair, you are looking for numbers as close together as possible.
Use the spreadsheet to compare the best odds (there is a good one on the thread called Automatcher) and just play around with the numbers. You will soon see which give you a decent return or not... its up to you how long you are prepared to look for numbers in return for profit! GL GL GL... HTHDFW Nerd #1310 -
Thanks for people's experiences of Gapbuster - its just I've done 10 shops for them since mid January, and as I've told them in an email, there has been NO POSITIVE FEEDBACK from them and NO PAY yet, so all I've had is one email (weirdly beginning 'Dearest .....' rather then 'Dear') from them telling me they are invalidating the whole assignment and not paying me! I can see they may decide not to pay me for the work, but not to reimburse what I spent on their instructions is unfair - part of it was to buy a padded envelope and post a piece of nothing via Special Delivery, so it wasn't even a 'perk' item for me to use!
Does anyone have a favourite/recommendation re Mystery Shop companies?
Re matched betting - why do I feel so stupid? Reading Welshgirl78's explanation leaves me even more puzzled - it looks really helpful if only I could understand it! And is it a no-no if I can't understand how to use and create spreadsheets?
I can see it is WORK and I wouldn't mind doing that, if only I could make sense of it all!0
