Daughter has had bag stolen. If that's not bad enough some of the numbers she's been ringing to cancel cards etc are 0870.

I'll bear that in mind next time I'm deciding which bank account/card to take up.

Yep, say no to 0870, alternatively most give a geographic number to call from if abroad. Just take off the first 0044 and add a 0!

Cheers, I do use say no whenever I can, but some just didn't have an alternative that worked!

Just think it's a mean bit of greed on behalf of the giants involved! She had to borrow phones as it was.

I've not done that before, dmg, I'll remember that one.

btw, should we be concerned about missing driving licence, in view of all info on it?

Were her house keys in the bag? Because her driving license has her address on it!

Good point - thankfully, and amazingly, the keys were recovered in the otherwise empty bag that was found abandoned!

I was wondering about name, address, d.o.b. etc being useful for fraud? wage slip went too, that has NI number on.

I would advise the DVLA that the licence has been stolen as it will probably be sold. Not sure how to stop someone commiting fraud with your details:confused:

Yup rang them 1st thing - they said there was no danger of fraud as it is a photo card (?) but I'm not convinced.

it's only a prov - but VERY much used for ID!!

Oh and they want £22 for a new card - heavy admin fee imo!

if the card is stolen then i would call and reverse the charges

they cant not refuse to accept the call as it involves a theft
