We bought our flat a year ago and have to sell it because of our delightful neighbours.

Could we get some of the information for our HIP from our conveyancing solicitor? Is this information still classed as valid?

Sorry if it's a daft question but I'm a bit unsure of how HIP's work :o

    Hi Zoebeth,

No such thing as a daft question when it comes to HIPs unless it involves a bad joke about transplants ;)

I'm afraid the documents retained by your solicitor will be out of date. The searches can be no older than 3 months by the time they go in the HIP (this is in the HIP regulations). In any case, the searches will by very out of date if you bought the place over a year ago.

    Good thinking though!
Happy to help with HIPs and EPCs
