Landlords Gas Safety Certificate

As a landlord, I am responsible for the safety of my tenants when it comes to gas, etc. Naturally, each year I get the whole system checked and pass the certificate on to the tenants. This year I contacted a Corgi registered guy who did the job, but failed the gas fire in the front room( everything else was fine) because…

Update: phoned the gasman for his opinion and he said that he was going to check with Corgi and get back to me. In the meantime, I have spoken to Corgi technical department and they have confirmed my thoughts - if the fire was not made with a fdd, then it cannot be failed for for an "unsafe" one! The guy must be pulling a fast one, but for the life of me I cant see why as hes not making anything out of it. He is going to call me back with the results of his call from Corgi so I will update u then. Still worrying though. How many inspections are like this one?
