Selling my car..what do you think?

Hiya Taxi,
What is the trim level on the car? Is it the Club, Elegance or comfort? Looking at the trader for an example of prices, there are several Dti's through dealerships at under £3k, many with Full service history with 100k plus miles on.. What will go in your favour is if you have the bills, stamped log, etc to account for the care you obviously have given to your car. I have sold on both trader and ebay, and both give really useful selling guides. E bay is very good if you want cash quickly, just remember to put something about 'the price you win the auction as is the price of the sale, not an invitiation to haggle' (or words to that effect). The trader as mentioned by a previous poster, is good for upoloading photos, and has a really wide online audience.
Good luck selling, and apologies if my opinion is not what you neccesarily wanted to hear.
Best wishes, red0 -
Thankyou for your help it is most welcome. Autotrader and free local paper it will be then .As nobody seems to think it's overpriced I may put it on then at the price autotrader suggests .It's pointless having it sat about doing nothing as we bought a brand new vectra in july last year to use as a taxi...as I drive all day for a living and am usually out in the taxi then it's a shame to sit there. So I will have it MOT'd it's due about the 14th feb and re-tax it as that runs out in feb as well..give her a lovely clean and wave her off where somebody will hopefully look after her like I did.0

redrolo...I'm open to all opinions..so do not worry on that and I have every bill I have ever spent as I'm S/E so have to keep all receipts for 7 years.I'll not be going down the e-bay route.
You posted as I was posting so I missed yours sorry so hence the reply now...it's the club I think and it is also steam cleaned and fully valeted at least once a year so very clean engine.hope this helps thanks0 -
eBay is definitely worth a shot if you are comfortable with it and stipulate YOUR terms and condition on the auction page. I sold a car on there last year without any problem, and got a bit more than I probably would have through normal channels.0

Check out honest John or what car they will give you an idea, I personally would not pay that for a zafira of that age and mileage but then I am very careful when I buy cars and search until I find a good enough deal. I think that you need to compare whatelse is avalible in the area for the same kind of price. Good luck.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0

Hi Taxi, good luck with the sale. If you are keen to sell quickly ebay IMO is better as you will find out what someone is willing to pay. If you are not in a hurry you can try the trader and alter the price if neccesary until it sells. I have sold 4 cars on ebay and bought 2. The 2 I bought all came with lots of bill receipts and history, so it gave me confidence. Another plus with e bay would be that you can put more information about the car and condition, you can put a reserve price in and you can stipulate your conditions.
In the trader there are currently 12 'Club' dtis with over 100k on the clock ranging from 2.2k to 5k, between 2000 and 2003.
I can send you the link, if you want me to post it.0 -
Thanks red...have just seen them thanks and I'm not in a rush or desperate to sell hence why I didn't trade it in when I bought the new one.My insurance is paid in full until september and I would be taxing and putting an Mot on it anyway...so will put it up for sale some time in feb with autotrader as that seems quite easy and will maybe try local papers.thanks all for the info0

oooh - well that's how to sell it sorted
I would go for paying for the double glazing and any other bits and pieces that need doing round the house
You decided what you will use it for?

No net yet Sea...maybe the double glazing as that is money I'm saving up at the moment so then what I would have saved can go to mortgage overpayments...want rid of all debt and mortgage by end of 2011..I can dream0
