Thanks for the pic, the cupboards look great, the doors look very similar to mine but mine are light oak and I hate them with a vengence.:rotfl:

I'm hoping for the country kitchen look with wooden tops and a belfast sink so painting might be an option.;)

Hi Adandem - Go for it .... it is worth the effort. I am now looking for two similar doors to create a false cupboard to cover up most of the ugly boiler.

I even painted things like my iron and enamel Le Crueset recipe book holder to change it from blue to cream. Looks great.

I think I will attack my pine bedroom furniture next .....:D

tiles from BQ. walls tiles about 75 quid and floor tiles 100 quid.
we wish had done the worktops at teh same time now. we dont like the old ones.
units were a dark mahogony before. as was the boxed in thingy above the window.
all diy, inc the new DG window.

Thanks Ormus, it is really interesting to see what can be achieved with a bit of work and for not a great cost. Looks great and must have brightened your kitchen up no end. Well done you

    PS

You've done a fabulous job, thanks for sharing the pictures. It shows that it really does pay to do all the necessary preparation before applying the final coat of paint.

    Your kitchen looks excellent.
