yeah,if you have the user rights to see them you see many search engine bots on forums all the time0 -
Be careful of some SEOs though. My mum's business got a cold call from one spouting all sorts of promises and that they have a "special deal with google" which is nonsense because google themselves have an advice page on SEOs where they explicitly state they have no deals with any SEOs. They can't do anything that you are capable of physically doing yourself to and for your site. They're just slicker and more expert in that field but it doesn't give you some priviledged access to Google etc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

This may be stating the blatantly obvious but..
What about Googling "rent Golf apartment Spain"
and I'm fairly certain the first page will be full of companies advertising just that.
I've been asked about creating websites for single properties abroad and I would always recommend using the bigger websites with bigger footfall that have a number of similiar properties. If you can't (and you won't unless you spend some serious google dollars) beat them, join them.
Too much competition for the top 10-20 search results. You need to shorten the odds.0 -
I run a website for a motorcycling charity - http://www.freewheelers.org.uk - and we get very high rankings on Google searches. I put this down to three simple things:
1) Lots of content on the pages - text, text and more text.
2) Easy-to-navigate site, which makes it easier for spiders to index my site. I do use javascript menus, but the pages are also statically linked at the bottom of each page.
3) Google sitemaps - I have a sitemap.xml file, registered with Google, which lets them know whenever I update content on the site.
These three things, above all others, have been important in getting our site highly ranked. Everything else is secondary IMHO.

I would recommend reading the eBook "Be Found" at the Cool Book Shop.0

This will not improve your search engine ranking. You can do the adwords thing which is the 'sponsored results' that appear at the top and right hand side of google searches.
The best way is getting other relevant sites to link to you. In essence (very simplified) this means your site is more popular, or seen as an authority on golf, so will rank higher in search results. This general principle would apply to Yahoo, ASK, etc.
Also having a lot of key words relevant to what people would search for and fresh content helps a bit, but is not the main part of it.0 -
If you have a Google Account, you can access the WebMaster Tools to help you see when the GoogleBot last access your site etc.
This page from Google lists a set of guidelines to help Google find, index, and rank your site.

By all means you can have a look at the site I have posted it below .
I have tried entering meta tags and it just wipes the test from the html box
I have a feeling the company that have set this free hosting up have put a wipe clean in the text box when you try to add the tags .
Let me know your thoughts ?
We can do a really good discount for anyone who can improve the hit rate .:rotfl:

First off, being on free hosting without your own domain won't do you any favours.
Hosting can be had for a few pounds a year, so there's no excuse really.
You won't get those ads forced on you either, so it'll make the site look a lot more professional. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
