By the time I was due to take the kids to school this morning I could quite happily have waved my husband off for a couple of days, sent the girls to boarding school (or Siberia - it was a really bad morning!) and declared myself an orphan with no extended family (don't even go there!)
and then I get to realise how lucky I am
Catznine - hope your husbands back with you by now
Queenie - I bet you've gone through all emotions possible - so pleased for you to have such good news
Rebob - hope you hear from your family soon
Anyone else out there anxiously waiting - the thoughts and prayers of many people are with you tonight0 -
I had a horrible sick feeling in my stomach all morning yesterday and then I heard about the bombings. I immediately phoned my mum as my uncle works for Virgin Trains driving the Liverpool to London Euston train and I was worried as I knew he wasn't off yesterday. Thankfully mum/sister finally managed to get a hold of him around 10.30 to find out that he wasn't due to take any trains until the 1pm from Liverpool one :j
I also phoned OH as he attended university in London and I know he had alot of friends down there. He emailed them all (he only has email contacts) and got a reply from one saying that they were all fine especially as 2 weren't in London as they were working elsewhere but the one that was in London was in Greenwich and was staying at a friends house. Talk about relief.
I feel really sorry those people who have been effected by all of this. My heartfelt best wishes go out to all of them including the emergency services and everyday people who helped others. :grouphug:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hi guys Know how your feeling on this My brother didnt get the train/tube that was in Aldegate because it was too busy and he waited for the next one he was so lucky as that was the one that exploded. So thankful that he was ok managed to get hold of him at around 11am yesterday.
Couldnt get hold of my mate until 1pm yesterday either as he works up in Green Park but thankfully none of the explosions were any were near him either.
My thoughts are with the people and familys who were either injured or killed in this terrible event................

I've just been for a walk (I work near St James' Park) and London, though the transport is getting back to normal, is strangly quiet. There is a noticeable police presence too.
I was so pleased to read that peoples' loved ones are safe.0 -
Hi everybody!
I didn't want to post loads of stuff on here that everyone was getting anyway from the news, the media now seem to know everything much faster than anyone else.
Anyway, got called away from my sleepy desk job today to releave someone else who is fit and able to go out and do their job... nevermind, so swapped something that wasn't too bad for something rather dull!
Well, there are loads of people out and about and hopefully with the examinations being carried out of the various "scenes" we will get some kind of information very soon about who where when what why.
I'm am so glad to hear that peoples friends and loved ones are ok and my wishes and thoughts go out to anyone who has been injured or affected by this tradgedy.
It is so sad that anybody can believe their message or cause can be heard through this kind of violence.
I walked to Waterloo last night from my office near Baker Street and London seemed very odd, quiet, most shops were shut and there were a lot of people walking on the streets. But also having gone back into work today you can see how resilient the whole country is.
We have survived much worse, the luftwaffe in the second world war couldn't stop London. Neither of course did the IRA during the "troubles".
So even if it is corny and cheesy, I want to just add that tough times make for tougher people. Ordinary people doing kind good things to help strangers who were in need of comfort, help and support and at worst medical treatment.
Well done London, well done everyone. take care, best wishes, heres to a good weekend with some lovely weather to remember everything we have and everything we love. Including our freedom.
Thank you.

Hi everyone! Hubby had to work all night but stood down this morning just in time to take dd to graduation in London:eek: Well I had to drive most of the way so he could have a sleep and I had never driven an automatic before so big learning curve! Nightmare journey! Lots of traffic jams. But nowhere near as awful as others had to deal with yesterday. Stopped off at Edgeware Road as we were lost - really hits you to be so close to these places.
All our kids friends are ok thank goodness hope others here have also been so lucky. There were a few empty places at the graduation today but people did have probs getting into London from the west. Very emotional had a minutes silence and a talk about how we should keep going with our lives and not be cowered by terrorism - quite a few tears in the auditorium.
Will have to go and catch up on some sleep soon! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
