Anyone in London

Morning,

if there is anyone in an office in London and are worried about all the stuff in the news please do not go out into the streets!

I am a police officer and I am still trying to find out what is going on. Since I can't go out and help as I am restricted duties I thought that I might be able to help by just popping this on here.

So unless you get any better advice stay where you are. I know that Police officers who might have been at home will, if necessary be or have been contacted and will be making their way in to do whatever they can to try and help.

So please everyone stay where you are until we get some idea of what has happened. And take care.

Of course these are my personal vews so don't moan at me if you have been specifically told something different.

Otherwise if you have any questions I will do what I can but I am sure the news channels will keep you up to date.

Kippers.

    I'll second that!
My 9yr old is home ill today and the coverage has quite shocked her - the sight of all the police, medics etc has reassured her as well as the fact that "ordinary" people are helping where possible as well. I've been able to tell her for every bad person in the world there are thousands of good ones.
After this is over perhaps you could pass on our thanks to your colleagues for their day to day dedication as well as their amazing professionalism at times like this

I think all Old Stylers living/working in Central London should reply to this thread to register that they are OK.

Let me be the first to do so...

  • My 18 year old daughter was in London for a 2 day post A level treat with a friend, they were in a hotel just off Tavistock Square and thankfully her trip ended last night, she is home now but very shaken that she was walking in the streets that are now on the news only 24 hours ago. I can't tell you how relieved we are to have her home...but then one thinks about all the other families that aren't as lucky as us

I don't know if this will help but the police have been on alert for this kind of event for the last couple of years.

Last year I attended a training day which went over major incidents such as this, what police would do what fire service would do and also what we would do in cases of Biological, Radioactive attacks etc.

All I can say is that if you are fine please stay in your office or wherever you are unless you need to get home. Obviously there is no public transport and all roads will be disrupted.

Hopefully given time police and other services will be able to bring some order but the less people on the streets the easier it will be for police to help.

No specific updates coming through. I will do my best to keep you up-to date.

    Take care

My son is at work in Oxford St and has been told to saty put. I wish he was at home here with me now.
I live about a mile from the London Hospital and the streets are really busy.

On the upside just had an email from a friend that was on the blast train (Edgware Rd), he said he stayed calm by doing his Sudoko puzzle and is now at work.
