combi boiler broke? heating but no hot water? help!

hi, my friend has a worcester 28Si combi boiler.
all seems fine ie the pilot light is on etc...
but the hot water is not coming out hot, just slightly luke warm (if that).
the heating works fine though!
which is wierd!
anyone help?

Is there a seperate thermostat for the taps?

theres a converter valve that senses the taps are on and switches over from heating to hot water, this may be sticking due to sludge in the system or a small pin hole in the diaphragm itself

I've got the exact same problem and boiler! We had the Central heating guy out and as Browntoe says its the diffuser, a switch has stuck between the hot water and heating. He has ordered a new switch. I can't tell you the cost as I'm waiting to hear back!

hi, when i turn the hot tap on the boiler fires up and the hot water light comes on. but no hot water!?

hi, when you turned the hot tap on did the boiler fire up?
mine does!?

Yes it does, I think the diffuser, because its stuck just stops the water from heating up properly.

i have an ideal he 30 combi boiler central heating is ok but no hot water ,engineer came and fitted a new diverter valve but the water is still playing up it gets hot then goes cold and then in and out of luke warm ,frustrating now as i have to little ones to bath ,any ideas please,
