You have to register your Virgin sim to get another £2 credit, as it actually costs £5.50 to get a Splash Card - ie one SMS sent at 50p, then you receive a reverse-charged premium SMS from Splash to pay for the card (£5). ;)

Just to note I was charged £5.50 to sign-up via text to Splash on Virgin SIM not the stated £5!

    03-Jan-08 21:47:00 700040023 1.0 Text service received £5.00
    03-Jan-08 21:43:00 60999 1.0 Text service sent £0.50

Has already tracked on Quidco @£10

You can pay the £5 from the virgin sims so long as you have registered them. You need to do this first in order to have £7 credit on the sim (£5 + £2). The extra £2 (for registering) gets put on overnight so if you haven't already done that part you'll have to leave splash plastic until tomorrow.

It costs 50p to send the text to 60999 from Virgin so you need £5 + 50p in your balance.
  • i see thanks guys very helpful.
last questions can i do this 4 times because i have 4 sims? i heard some1 say on here they have done it twice.

Yeah, crystal9 has had 2 track, so we're waiting to see if they get validated and paid. If it works, it looks like the "5 per household" limit can apply to just one person (rather than 5 different people in the same household). ;)

    No you can't.

Everyone in the household can have an account. However, with quidco you have to pay £5 each year out of your earnings so if you just use your "mum's" account for the splash card you'll end up wit £10-£5 charge. Probably best to use another cashback site such as topcashback as you have no admin fee to pay so will keep the full £10 cashback.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say YOU have 4 debit cards but they're under 4 different names - surely if they're in you mum/dad's name then they're THEIR debit cards (if you're an additional cardholder on their account, you should still be named on the card).

Anyway, if you're buying things online via Quidco, the name on the debit card will have to agree with the name registered with Quidco, so if the debit cards are in your mum/dad's names, they will have to open their own Quidco account (and each account will have to pay the £5 annual fee). You could sign up with Topcashback which doesn't charge an annual fee. ;)

If you're saying that the 4 debit cards are in YOUR name, why would you want to open 4 different Quidco accounts in different names and pay 4 lots of annual fees, even if you were allowed (which you're not!!)?
