You may also be able to find some education versions of the MX 2004 edition cheaply on eBay and from good suppliers too, it's only 1-2 versions older than the current one...

Ask at your local ISS office or the School Of Computing should have a shop, if they sell on licences, I last paid £10 for a full Macromedia MX from Leeds Uni.
  • I managed to get Dreamweaver MX from ebay, not sure whether it's the education edition, I presume it is but it didn't say. I'm just waiting for it to be delivered now. The seller has a 100% reputation and has already emailed me to say it's been posted by recorded mail so it should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.

The uni I'm at, has an agreement with Mircrosoft and we're able to get certain software for free while we are studying for degree's with the stipulation that once you have completed your degree you uninstall it off your computer. Unfortunately they don't have any such agreement with Adobe. It was one of the first things I asked!

Depending on how long you need DW for, you could always download a trial copy from Adobe and use it legally for £0.

  • I already have the trial version on my comp at the mo ;) But as we'll be coming back to web design over the next 3-4 years I'll be needing it for longer than a month. And I must admit, I want it for my own personal use :P
