It was all meant in a good way and not too offend.
Well it did offend and having a disabled husband I did not find it very funny and very sarcastic and condescending.
I never said the manufacturer made the pie filling for disabled or weak wrist people. I was pointing out the reason why some people might use it. To make life easier.

CalleyEver thought that some people maybe disabled or have weak wrists and hands and are unable to chop and peel fruit.
I realised you weren't and I have expressed myself thouroughly, although that is only because I have a conscience and not because I need too. I do appreciate you have a disabled husband, I myself have 5 children 2 of which are disabled, and my mother-in-law is severely disabled and has a wrist that is very weak. Forunately members of my family try to be upbeat about there circumstances and are not always taking offence to other's ignorance of a situation. With my son's disabilities people are very ignorant and I come up against it daily. You have chosen to ignore my explanations and I understand now, you are intent on finding offence no matter what.
I am not going to apologise for finding humour in something, and for thinking you were joking, we are obviously from very different walks of life and I am very glad that I can be more understanding of others and not so critical. My experience on this forum is that people with the sole intent of offence do not try to make themselves understood when a mis-understanding occurs, this is not what I have done. I was concerned to offend others.
This is an open forum, people are allowed to express whatever their opinion is. In typing there is little expression and often there are upsets. I did laugh, because it made me laugh and I thought it was funny, I of course now realise you were extremely serious and there was no humour intended, but I do not think I am a terrible person for finding it funny. My experience of those with a disability, made me think it would be far more dangerous for them to be fiddling about with tina and sharp edges than with real fruit and a safe knife. Not all fruit needs peeling. I appreciate you have a different experience of disability.
All that said and done, if you really think that these huge companies are aiming this product at making life easier (for whatever) group of people, then I would imagine you are wrong, they will generally be making it for the sole reason of making money out of people. These are very large companies and their job is too make money.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -

You go to the trouble of making crumble topping, and put it on a tin of hartleys filling? That is so weird. It's like half-fast food. Not the processed ready made one but the processed sort of pretend homemade one. You could use cheaper in season produce. Using a tin full of loads of sugar and preservatives is really random and I have never come across this idea before! Have you tried markets for fruit? Esp at the end of the day. You can buy loads for a £1 and make cheap delicious, healthy puddings.
This was a moneysaving post. I truly didn't know people used these tins, and for my family it is MUCH cheaper to use fresh locally sourced produce. I have removed the smileys, as somone thought I was not chuckling but being offensive and sarcastic. Hey ho that is a forum for you. Who cares who cooks with what, it would be very expensive for me to use these tins to feed my family so it is not really applicable to me anyway.
I totally disagree with how someone has forced you to remove your original comments.
We live in a free speech society and therefore you should not be made to ammend your posts. I thought this was funny as well as tinned fruit isn't as healthy for you and is more dangerous to less abled people. Why are some people having a go?
People need to grow up. AND MAKE THERE OWN PIE FILLINGS!!

Why has no-one mentioned the price of cherries!!!! They're dead dear in my opinion. I even get them from the local market & they're still really pricey. And it's a right faff with stoning them, what a palava! Anyway, I prefer the pie filling - all that syrup and sugar, yummy!0
