Vista help - default e-mail.

Hi.
I have just bought the dell vostro 1500 that was on here and I am having a few problems with Vista.
I am using yahoo mail and want to use it as my default e-mail but I can't seem to work out how to do it.
Each time I click on an e-mail link it goes to windows mail which I haven't set up as I don't use it.
I saw a similar thread on here recently and followed the instructions given but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone explain how to do this please.
I am using IE7.
Thank you.

You need to configure Windoze Mail to act as your e-mail client for your Yahoo account. i.e. enter the POP3 and SMTP servers, account name/password etc.

    Thanks.
Without sounding too dumb, how do I do this and how do I find out the POP3 and SMTP servers.

Details for setting up Windoze Mail accounts here.

    Yahoo specific details:

    incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk

    outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk

    Outgoing Mail Server

    Check My server requires authentication.

I have followed all the above instructions but I still can't get it to work.
I am getting the following error message -

    Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk (1)', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user/password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Am I right in thinking that the username and password that they are asking for to authorise is the one that I use to log onto the internet.
    Thanks for you help.

The username/password required in your e-mail client is that of your Yahoo e-mail account.

I have now tried using my yahoo e-mail account details but am still getting an error -

Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk (2)', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Error logging in. Please visit http://mail.yahoo.com', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Is there something else that I am doing wrong.
    Thanks.

Have you enabled web and pop access in your options, while logged into your yahoo e-mail account via the website?

    No I don't think I have.

I can compose e-mails in yahoo and send them its just when I click on e-mail links in posts that yahoo doesn't work.
    Thanks again.

log into your yahoo account. Click options then mail options. One the left hand side click POP and fowarding. Select to allow Web and POP access. Save this option. You should be away then.

    Thank you espresso and rcssmb.
I have done that now and it is working but not as I want it to.
When I click on an e-mail link windows mail opens and the e-mail is getting sent from there using my yahoo e-mail address.
The windows mail is now filling up with my 2000+ e-mails from my yahoo account.
I have two yahoo accounts and I sent an e-mail from one to the other and vice versa and they are in my windows inbox instead of my yahoo.
How do I get them to go to yahoo instead of windows mail.
    Sorry for all the questions.
