hello
please tell me the best place to exchange 150 euros into british pounds. PO is the most convenient but their site says i will get around 102 whilst google says the rate today is just over 112 pound !!
Please tell me ASAP i did try searching but this forum has not much info on how to sell currency in the UK0 -
You are looking at trading rates, as opposed to retail rates.
150 Euros is not a great amount, so any difference in rates is going to be negated by inconvenience. The Post Office rate is normally one of the best, so I would just stick with that.Gone ... or have I?0 -
For some reason jonny0 decided to ask the same question again an hour later. Other thread has been answered. The Post Office rate is not 'absolutely rubbish', jonny0 does not understand that consumers do not get the same rates as on the trading markets!Gone ... or have I?0

You might get a £ or two more at M&S. You'll probably get a £ or two less at a travel agent.
Assuming you don't have to spend £5 on bus fare or petrol to get there.....
Best bet is to find a mate who is going there and sell to him at a rate advantageous to both of you.
You are not going to get the interbank rate you've found on Google - you are not a bank or currency trader doing it electronically.0 -
thank you everyone, dzug your post especially was helpful.
We have several PO's where i live the closest is a 2 minute walk away from me:D
M&S i would have to take a bus to get there but if we go do some shopping then i might aswell wait and pop in there.0 -
damn the guy said M&S will give me a good rate but my local one dont exchange currency, the closest onje that does is far.
guess i will have to use the PO0 -
Don't forget that not every Post Office does foreign currency on demand. If you take it to a pre-order branch they will only change it back if you have a receipt saying you bought it at the Post Office. Not necessarily the same PO.0

mate i dont think thats the case, maybe it is if you have large number of foreigh currency but i have exchanged euros before without any problems even though my local one is small.0
