    Unless I meet Mr Spice in the next couple of weeks I'll be doing nowt for valentines day but that said I'm not fussed on it anyway and hate the idea of going out somewhere with a load of other couples and all eating from the "valentines day" menu. Would much rather have a nice meal at home and watch a soppy film, not that I'm anti romance just when it's enforced on certain day.

    I may send Freddie one of these though too;

    I found a football card (with Freddie on) while tidying up earlier and thought of you actually!

    we don't do anything, it's only just been our anniversary and I didn't get a card for that either!

    don't mind really as he normally cooks, and he's very at it.

    this is mine and OH's first valentines together, and the 15th is our first anniversary. I'm really looking forward to them both. OH is very romantic, i'm trying to be very DFW but he's more extravagent. I'm facing my first valentines with the man i love and i don't have a clue on what to do( unless is costs a fortune and i don't have one of them!)

    Well not sure what we are doing this year but it will be romantic, I don't think marriage nor lack of money is a good excuse not to be romantic at least once a year.

    My hubby is a huge softee never spends a fortune but always puts thought there.

    Thankfully this is the first year in a while I don't have to organise a youth club disco, so some serious snuggle time, good meal, favourite wine. Also I am pinching Martins idea of a box of why I love him. All of which will be home made with love lol!
  • As a woman from the North East, I can vouch for Geordie men not ALL being useless at romance! When I was married I always got a dozen red roses on valentines day (they were my faves) and taken for a nice meal or made one at home; and I know a lot of my attached friends get treated like princesses on Valentines day. I just need to find a decent one myself again now!

    i'm not from the north east, and when i do go up there its like a foreign language! I'm starting to get to grips with it now, took me ages to figure out what 'gan yem' meant!! :o

    LOL as in "am gannin' yem bonny lad ave had ower much peeve and me belly's bad."

    THANKS for all the other suggestions.

    hey

    had to laugh when i read this, like the OP I'm married to a geordie guy too, and i thought it was just him being unromantic!

    Now I know its the norm up in geordie land to not be interested in cards, how do the card shops survive up there?! :confused:

    :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Now Now, I feel us 'Geordie Men' are getting the bums rush here, not all of us are unromantic, love voids you know!
