We dont tend to do anything for Valentines day - in fact the nicest thing he could do for me would be to pay £50.00 off a credit card! (does this mean I am now totally MSE converted?) x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

hahaha he's eat you out of house and home! 19st stone and all that DIY works up an appetite.
Re him doing the electrics - no he isn't an electrician, but when we bought the house we found the seller had done a lot of (bodged) electricity work - underfloor bathroom heating which hadn't been earthed..etc.
We never even considered asking if the work had been done by a qualified electrician.
We were first time buyers so I'm not sure if it is standard buying practice to ask for proof of which tradesman carried out the work.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0

            hey
had to laugh when i read this, like the OP I'm married to a geordie guy too, and i thought it was just him being unromantic!
Now I know its the norm up in geordie land to not be interested in cards, how do the card shops survive up there?!
 :rotfl: :rotfl:
 LOL total sympathy.
When you met was his chat-up line: "You're propa smart yee like pet."
Does he follow any romantic lush with: "Divvn't tell the lads though or they'll think am a puff* like."
Does he call you "wor lass" to his mates?

I also know u may not be selling it in the near future but chances are u will in the future

Hello I've mentioned this in another post but thought I'd reply direct.
I'm a bit confused because when we bought the house we found the seller HAD cocked up the electrics - underfloor bathroom heating not earthed, kitchen extraction fan only works if small lights in kitchen on - we never even thought to ask for proof of who carried out the work.
we were first time buyers but were buying with the in-laws and they never suggested such a thing either.
can you elaborate?DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0

We also skip Christmas presents too as we don't see any point in me spending x on something that he probably doesn't really want and vice versa when it is already such an expensive time of year.
God - romance really is dead in my world isn't it!!;)
You sound just like me and my DH - no cards, presents etc for birthdays, christmas anniversaries or valentines :rotfl:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

How about Valentine's Pork Chops Jane? I've seen them at the butcher's before and sometimes in the supermarket. It's a boneless loinchop which has been carefully sliced and flattened slightly so it (just about!) resembles a heart shape. "Stay Wonky":D "Stay Wonky":D
