  • Try to get your head round this one!

Last autumn, went through Quidco to a major car insurer.

Because we are both over 60,and drive a 1ltr.car,low mileage, max.no claims,

the fully comp.premium was only £93.Cheap as this was, things got better.

A couple of months later,we were credited by Quidco into our bank......£120.

Yep,the insurers did the deal for MINUS £27.

    A few months ago,I insured my house(£120,000 rebuild cost)but that time I

was not so lucky. After receiving my £100 refund,I had to pay THEM £37.

We have had about £400 back within the last year,so they get my vote!:T

Yes it works for the greater part of the time. You have to clear cookies etc if you visited the site you want to buy from before logging on to your Quidco account. Doing so ensures that Quidco properly tracks the purchase.

Sorry but I don't agree with that statement. It should but it is not certain to track.

You are entitled to your view, of course. And, I did quantify earlier in that post when I mentioned the words "greater part of the time".

im new to quidco myself just activated my qaccoutn today but joiend last week

ebay is liek 45% i use it often so why nto get soem reward back for it..

Ebay may be 45%, but it's not as good as it may first appear. The cashback is based on Ebays charges to the seller; it is not based on the price paid for the item listed.

yesterday I used Quidco for a Boots.com purchase and it validated in 2 hours and now showing as earnings on my account :j
  • I mostly use quidco for stuff that I would be buying anyway. So eg I bought a load of Xmas presents from M&S (all 3 for 2), went via quidco and got cash back and then used a code as well to get 15% off. I haven't had any trouble with using codes with quidco so far. I find the % stuff on quidco works well, esp for all the big stores, boots, M&S, tesco direct, expedia, flybe, all of which I use regularly. I find the one-off £10 or whatever payments are a lot more hit and miss. EG I used insurancec4carhire last summer and had to put an enquiry on and have only just got paid. I also went thorugh AA for car insurance with an £80 cashback promise that I didn't get. I've also just taken out savings accounts with alliance and leicester and HSBC and these haven't tracked either.

I think the crucial thing for me is to only buy what I would have bought anyway in which case quidco is a nice extra bonus. I did make £80 last year and already have another £60 in process and it's all money I wouldn't have had so from that POV it's good :)

BTW I've set up firefox to not store cookies once I close it so it automatically clears everything...and I always use firefox for quidco buys.

I've just been watching It Pays to Watch with :money: and he is offering a bottle of champagne to the lowest car insurance anyone has received - I think you have to email or go to the website here http://www.itpaystowatch.co.uk/ You should definately win that - well done
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

Steve, sorry if I seem to be nitpicking but the point of my reply was to question the statement that by clearing your Cookies, it would track with Quidco. That clearly is not the case, as myself and others on here will confirm.

Would you be so kind and advise me how to do this, please. I have now done this.

Well, shiver me timbers! (or whatever the saying is). I took out insurance with Barclays in Nov 2006 and it failed to track. I made an enquiry with Quidco and it seemed to die a death.
Well blow me down but it has just appeared in my account as "Added". I am lost for words and I must admit, I did not think it would ever get paid. I must say, well done to Quidco!
