If you're in the market for car or house insurance there's usually someone giving £100+ back via Quidco. Obviously do the basic research first to make sure the premium is still reasonably competitive.
I've only had a couple of small items declined or failed to track.
It's probably bet not to DEPEND on getting the cash back from them, although you will get it the large majority of the time. Consider it a bonus, I guess...
Yes, agree with you, it's probably not a good idea to base the purchase totally on the dependency of getting the cashback.
I had a bit of a palava with Quidco over a £32 connection fee to TalkTalk. Quidco only paid me a my mate £10 each instead of the £32 that we were entitled to. When I queried it they talked about it not tracking or cashback being given to some other site. This was nonsense, it must have tracked for them to rebate the £10. They kept on closing my queries down and I kept opening new ones, and finally they have credited the remaining £22 to my account. My mate is still in limbo with that one at the moment.0 -
Yes you can use discount codes aswell to greater the savings, you just have to access the websites through Quidco or other cashback sites so that they have logged your passing through, then once on the website you are buying from it may let you add voucher codes for discounts (available from MSE or other websites).
Like others have said, treat it as bonus cash but do compare product prices using a website like pricerunner.com to gain extra price knowledge0 -
so does Quidco automatically track your purchases, or
do you have to log onto quidco first and look for your supplier through thequidco site
just wondering, cos i wann anew pc from dell
and thats 5% cashback0 -
damski - you have to log in to your quidco account, then follow the links on the quidco site to the merchant you want to buy from. Otherwise it won't track. Read quidco's FAQ for a full explaination.............Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
When I went via Quidco onto one site (Dixons) they gave me a bonus discount code for Quidco users also...an extra £20 for orders over £499, I think, as well as the current sliding % discount on orders over varying amounts plus free delivery Dixons were offering, and it let me use both codes. I was well chuffed as that meant about £70 off just in discount codes, plus the item (cooker) was cheaper at Dixons than anywhere else, plus I should be getting a little bonus from Quidco. (It's verified, so Dixons obviously tracked it fast enough...that was four days back.)
Retailers must be absolutely gagging for customers, because there's discount upon discount out there. Over the three big appliances I bought last week I saved more than £400 by not just buying them in my local warehouse store, and that's not including the Quidco cash. Quite astonishing, really.Val.0 -

As GunJack says, you have to log into Quidco before going through to Dell. You might also find a further 10% or more discount/free delivery voucher for Dell here:

Not sure about the Nectar thing. But you can often use discount codes in conjunction with Quidco. See here for an example of a discount codes site:
http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/
You go through Quidco to the site you want to buy from. Then as you proceed to the checkout there will often be a box to put voucher/discount/promotional codes into. Sometimes the codes work and so reduce the cost of the item, whereas at other times the vouchers don't work because they've expired or maybe are not applicable to the item you have elected to buy. These discount codes don't afftect the rebate from Quidco.
As I said earlier, my friend bought a cooker for £131, then input two discount voucher codes at the checkout which saved £20 on delivery and gave a discount of £10, then he went through Quidco which gave him a 6% rebate on the remaining £121. Last, but not least he paid for it using his credit card and that gave him a further 1% rebate!! Therefore the item was effectively reduced from £151 (inclusive of delivery charge) to £112.74 (inclusive of delivery charge). It all adds up.
Thanks for the link:TTesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini0 -

Brilliant!!
Only thing is, I wished i'd discovered this sooner - I dread to think what i've bought in the last year that could have given me cashback...0 -
Most important point is clearing your cookies each time.
Some retailers say that you cannot use a discount code in conjunction with Quidco. The best known retailer that has this rule (and its made clear on Quidco when you click into retailer) is John Lewis. However, I always give it a go and the 3 times I have used JL with a discount voucher and Quidco together the store has always paid out.
The only transaction I have had that hasnt tracked was a small one from play.com for a memory card. I didnt bother to chase it up. The transaction does have to be for a certain amount of cash otherwise Quidco won't chase.
You cannot use Nectar and Quidco you have got to go thru one or the other.
You wont necessarily get the % on the full amount eg if you have paid for delivery that will be discounted and also maybe VAT. But am not sure about VAT - someone else will know0 -
There are tactical things you can do to cover your own back.
For instance, if buying insurance, buy it a few weeks before you want the policy to start, then if it hasn't tracked after a week or so, cancel it and take one out with a different company instead.
Actually I tried that, the second transaction didn't track either, and when I put an enquiry in it was rejected as well on the basis that "the policy had been cancelled!" Quidco support have been far from helpful and I have lost out on £130. I am absolutely fuming! :mad:0
