Thanks for the pointer, Risky. I have booked the flights, but went for the Bonaire hotel in Cala Bona, was more expensive -£92 - but still great value for a 4 star hotel and gets great reviews on Trip Advisor. Car hire is the same price with carjet, haven't booked that yet. Comes to £238 for 4 of us including car hire and airport parking at Stansted. Much cheaper than a short break in the UK!

glad that i could i have been of help !

i am glad that i have helped in some way ! i believe this is a fantastic deal and yes i do have children ! as soon people have pointed out these hotel reviews are for the summer when the brochures do warn that this hotel is used by 18-30 and that it is not remonded for children ! i would therefor NOT take my children there in the summer months !
i have stayed at this hotel before in the winter (feb half term) and had the place to ourselves apart from the thomsons live in staff and there children sharing the pool after school it was fantastic !
i would never put my children at risk and we are very wise travelers ! we travel abroad around 6-8 times a year and on this occasion will be coming back from hong kong only 2 days beforehand ! this is to get over the jet lag !

please beware of dates when reading feedback and reviews for holidays ! all of the bad ones are in the summer and there are fantastic reviews for these apartments in the winter off peak months !

and for £141 :T abroad i think i will take the risk in majorca than stuck in the rain in pontins with mr and mrs chavalot and paying £650 for the joy of it !:j

i challenge anyone to find a better holiday in the uk for that price in :rotfl: the school holidays! Good luck !

Magalluf as easter time is nothing like Magalluf in June/July/August. Sure you'll have a great time!

Erm......there is actually no answer to that comment.

I hope for your childrens' sake that everything works out okay

Personally, you couldn't pay me to stay there.

.................and I hope all FOUR of you have an absolute brilliant time, get some great weather and have a great bargain break, which obviously is NOT your main holiday and just an extra treat.

No negatives from me, best of luck and ENJOY.

I'm sorry but magaluf is the absolute pits at anytime. We went last may to majorca staying in Cal d'or. We drove over to Magalluf one day. It is like the worst highrise council estate you've ever seen and then multiply that by 10. We parked up in the middle of the resort and all we saw were huge gangs of lads walking round with their t shirts off and funnily enough there were loads of pensioners as well. the place is just a dump full of cheap tacky shops and karaoke bars. i wouldn't stay there if you gave me a £1000 spending money and a free holiday. I'm not a snob and have roughed it in many european resorts but Megaruff jsut takes the biscuit. We didn't even see what it was like at night,. I dread to think. Not a place for children.

OMG - that place - Eeeeeeee!!

I went there a few years back in December and it was BAD!!!!! We had the Wifebeater from hell next door and listened to batterings on a nightly basis!!! The entertainment was pretty dire as well but ok if you like watching people chug down cheap booze as fast as they can then get up to do karoake!!

The food in the hotel was also pretty grim - we were s/c but paid out for a meal one night as most restaurants were closed for a bank holiday of some sort - blechhh - we complained and got vouchers for another meal - thanks so much!!!

Kitchen and bathroom were filthy as well - we had to get rep to ask management to send the cleaner in again so I could put food in the fridge safely!!!

We ended up spending as much time out as possible and it was so cold!!!! Loads of places were shut off poeak as well so we ended up walking to Palma Nova just for entertainment.

If it were myself and hubby yeah then I agree take the risk, but taking the kids nah I could never do that. Personally if id have read them reviews id have never booked that hotel. I cant understand why you didnt pay just a little bit extra and get a hotel with better reccomendations, its not like youd have to pay a lot more for the time you are going to Majorca is it.

Just out of curiosity what will you do if you get there and find the hotel does have a few 18-30's and getting up to the antics written in the reviews ?

Hope you have a great holiday and for your sake I do hope the 18-30's arent on holiday that week :D
  • Risky - have you named yourself appropriately I wonder  Just had a look at the reviews and they are dire! I really hope you don't suffer the stuff that the others have, if I were you I would seriously consider amending your booking and going somewhere with slightly better reviews, I have stayed in some less that fab places and really think that with kids it is too big a chance to take - good luck whatever you decide anyway :D
