Service seems to vary with where you are. Tesco Middlebrook have always been really good. I tend to get the same drivers all the time and they are always quite helpful. Only had missing items twice and once when they didnt turn up! However, it was a match day and the roads were jam packed (as usual, dont even get me started on the coldplay concert ), so I let em off :D

The first time I used Tesco home deliveries I had a number of substitutions that I couldn't understand. One of them was - I had bought two Whiskas cat foods because they were on offer, instead of giving two of the large one they had in stock but would have been the same flavour, they gave a small one of a different flavour which was the flavour that I had ordered (sorry if this is confusing). And Nobody told me about this unlike Ocado who always told me I had substitions. Sainsbury's always put substitions in a blue bag so you can spot them even if the driver doesn't mention it. With Tesco's you can't see them. Suffice to say I've never used them again.
Fresh fruit and Veg is a problem with all of them, and sometimes fresh fridge ingredients - they always are too close to going off. I buy those in the shops personally, unless the shop near me doesn't sell it.

I've just written to complain today.
I ordered wine, over £50, to get the 1000 extra points. Two boxes, one 6, one 12. Only 6 of each turned up (didnt notice at first, was on the phone when delivered). I phoned and the girl checked and said it was their mistake, shouldnt have said 12 on the web site. She said there was no way they could send me the other 6 (yeah right, as if there wasn't the stock still sat in the warehouse!). I cancelled the order and it was collected within an hour.
Effectively, I was overcharged for the box of 6 (double, as it should have been 12 bottles). In store, I would have got the other 6, and a refund for their pricing error. Over the phone, they wouldn't even honour their mistake.
