Re. Andy88's closed thread (about Thanks abuse)

I am mortified - I was just following a couple of the links to the alleged "scenes of the crime", and instead of clicking the button to see who had thanked the poster, I accidentally clicked on Thanks myself :o .

Please can anyone following this situation disregard my name appearing on one of the posts. Oh dear oh dear, tails and whiskers.......... :(.
:D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Yeah I realise that now Traf, only I went all hot and bothered when I'd realised what I'd done - and that was before I'd read to the end (which I didn't - I just skipped to the final post) and saw that Martin had locked the thread anyway.

With hindsight (what a wonderful thing), perhaps some kindly board guide could pull this thread and chuck it into the bin?

I will not post again until I know what I'm doing! :o
(I was only on this board for a completely different reason (wanted to ask why Search doesn't seem to work) but in testing the word "search", that was one of the threads that came up.)

I just updated the search guide - but it's all really basic stuff there. the search is still a bit strange and hard to figure out why things don't come up.

    Where is the offending thanks?

You can't do anything to decrease someones thanked count

But you can do something to get rid of thanks on a post/thread (Just tried it):p

I think - though I have absolutely no way of knowing for sure - that the thanks count works more like a counter so that being thanked adds 1 to the counter and it never checks to see how many thanks you actually have.

I delete a lot of my own posts as part of organising the a-z and my thanks count never goes down
